I Heart Faces ~ Pets

Well since I missed last week's photo challenge I made sure to get a quick shoot in with our Kitty this morning.  It did not last very long however because my son was jealous of the fact he was not in front of the camera.

Here is Mr. Hemingway (named after the author who favored polydactyl cats-he has extra "toes").  We welcomed this gorgeous creature into our home over a year ago from a teacher in our district who found him wandering around her neighborhood.  I love the oddities of living things that make them special and our little guy has many interesting traits.

See for yourself!

I Heart Faces - "All about Babies"

Well I promised myself I would try to enter this every week since it helps push me as an artist and this week's challenge is one of my favorite subjects to capture; babies! I am currently taking a class at Miami University all this week (Photography in a digital world) so, I don't have a lot of time to sit and pp something. Instead I choose a picture I did for a family portrait session a few weeks ago that I still have yet to post. :(    I thought I would be able to catch up this summer but, oh well. This cute little guy was also my second newborn to photograph (if I include my son anyway-post of that session here) and I was so very excited when I was asked to do his four month pictures as well.  This is not really my top picture of the shoot but, it is one of my favorites.
Enjoy and check out more entries on I Heart Faces

I Heart Faces~Play

This is actually my first time entering one of the I ♥ Faces photography challenges but, after the photo walk in Columbus with some amazing photographers (pictures to come soon) I felt inspired to go for it.  It helps that I have a little more time now too now that school is out for the summer.
The picture I chose was taken on Grant’s first ever trip to the park near our house.  It was one of the first nice sunny days we received in Ohio and I needed a little distressing that day so, I suggested we visit the park to take advantage of the beautiful weather.  I loved this shot because many times my creative view points/compositions don’t always turn out due to lighting or focus issues (even if the sky was a little blown!).  His first trip down the big boy slide however was captured well enough for me and I am sure it will be a moment I treasure years from now.

I am determined after a little time to think this summer that I have to find a way to slow down a little and enjoy life to its fullest.  I just get so caught up in work sometimes moments like this never happen because I am too tired or insert another excuse here…
